Akron 2014 news
According to the Akron Beacon Journal, three members of the local college football program — running back Bryan Green, safety Johnny Robinson and cornerback Donte Williams — were arrested by Summit County sheriff’s deputies this past Monday.
As a result of the incident and subsequent charges, all three of the football players have been indefinitely suspended by the program. If the punitive measures were to bleed into the 2014 season, the loss of Robinson would be by far the biggest loss of the three for head coach Terry Bowden.

Jamal Marcus may be gone from Ohio State, but, as it turns out, he’s not gone from the state of Ohio.
On his Instagram account Tuesday, Marcus revealed that he will be continuing his playing career at Akron
Because the Zips are an FBS program, Marcus will have to sit out the 2014 season.

Re: Akron 2014 news
A former Ohio State offensive lineman is hoping for a shot at more playing time at a new football home. If the NCAA helps him out, he will be allowed to play right away this season.
Tommy Brown has decided to transfer to Akron, a transfer that brings him closer to home. Cleveland.com reports Brown has applied for a hardship waiver in order to be able to play right away this fall, rather than sit out the entire fall under standard NCAA transfer rules. Whether the NCAA approves the waiver remains to be seen.
