Re: BYU 2014 news
Former Mizzou backup quarterback Trent Hosick is on his way to Provo, though he’ll have a layover in Miami, Okla.
Hosick will transfer to BYU in 2015, but instead of sitting on the sidelines for a year will ply his craft at the junior college level with Northeastern Oklahoma A&M.

In addition to Pritchard, quarterback Billy Green has also asked for, and been granted a release from, his BYU scholarship. Green was a two-star member of the Cougars’ 2013 recruiting class who burned his redshirt as a true freshman playing very sparingly in a game against Idaho State.

Re: BYU 2014 news
One of the most highly-rated members of BYU’s 2014 recruiting class won’t see the field in 2014, if at all, for the Cougars.
First reported by Scout.com and subsequently confirmed by the Salt Lake Tribune, linebacker Sione Takitaki has been abruptly dismissed from the BYU football program. No reason for the dismissal was given.

Re: BYU 2014 news
Utah RB Langi now BYU LB Langi
For the past couple of weeks it’s been rumored that Harvey Langi would likely be transferring from Utah BYU.
That change of scenery has been cemented, as has a surprising change of position.
As the Cougars opened summer camp Friday, Langi was on the field and practicing with his new teammates. And, instead of being in the backfield where he spent his (brief) time with the Utes, Langi was practicing as a linebacker.
Langi, who per Mendenhall’s policy will not be permitted to speak to the media until after the first game of the year, went on a church mission in July of 2012 but planned to return to the Utes in 2014. Instead, upon his return, he decide to move on to the in-state rival Cougars.
Also, because of that mission and what’s described as an NCAA loophole, Langi will be eligible to play immediately in 2014.

Re: BYU 2014 news
Via Great Blue North Draft Report: BYU RB to sit opener … BYU junior RB Jamaal Williams, a rising prospect for either the 2015 or 2016 drafts, has been suspended for the Cougars’ season opener against Uconn later this month. Williams was arrested on suspicion of underage drinking last winter, but the current suspension is believed to be the result of a separate undisclosed incident in July at which Williams reports 'he was just having fun' but given that its BYU with its honor code from the 1890s, Williams was either drinking or puffing something illicit or perhaps even doing the old u-know-what without being - gasp - married!
