Washington State confirmed recent speculation regarding Aaron Baltazar, with the school announcing in a press release that the running back has signed a financial aid agreement to play for the Cougars. That play won’t occur until 2015, however, as Baltazar will have to sit out the 2014 season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules.

The former Boise St back will have three seasons of eligibility remaining beginning in 2015.

If Aaron Porter is to ever live up to his recruiting hype, he’ll do so in the Pacific Northwest.

First reported by CougFan.com and subsequently confirmed by the Orange County Register among others, the linebacker has decided to leave UCLA and make Washington State his next football stop.

Porter would be compelled to sit out the 2014 season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules. Beginning in 2015, he would then have two years of eligibility remaining.

Cal’s recruiting loss has turned into a gain for a fellow Pac-12 member.

In a press release Tuesday, head coach Mike Leach announced that Chandler Leniu has signed a financial aid agreement and will play for Washington State this season. Because he did not take any classes at his previous school, Leniu will is eligible immediately.

Earlier this offseason, Austin Apodaca decided to transfer out of the Washington State football program. Sunday, it’s lather, rinse, repeat at the quarterback position for the Cougars. Reportedly.

In a tweet from Britton Ransford of WazzuWatch.com, it’s being reported that Tyler Bruggman has decided to leave Wazzu and transfer elsewhere. No reason for the abrupt and surprising departure was given, and to where Bruggman will definitively move is unknown at this early stage.

Well that was abrupt.

Back in April it was announced that Aaron Baltazar had followed Chris Petersen to the state of Washington, transferring from Boise State into the Washington State football program. Less than four months later? Never mind.

A Wazzu spokesperson confirmed to the Idaho Statesman that the running back is no longer a member of the team. No reason was given for the abrupt and unexpected departure.

Unable to gain admission at this original signing place, Jeffery Farrar has moved to the other side of country to start his collegiate playing career.

Late Tuesday night, Washington State announced via a press release that Farrar has signed a Financial Aid Agreement with the university. Farrar had originally signed a National Letter of Intent with Virginia, but was denied admission into the university for unspecified academic reasons.

Farrar will be eligible to play immediately in 2014 and, as the school stated, will enroll in classes later this month.

Farrar was listed by Rivals.com as a three-star recruit, rated as the No. 36 athlete in the country and the No. 48 player at any position in the state of California. ESPN.com‘s recruiting service rated Farrar as a four-star prospect.

Kyrin Priester began the 2014 season on the East Coast. As it turns out, he’ll end it on the West Coast.

Washington State announced in a press release Tuesday night that Priester has signed a financial aid agreement with the school and will play football for the Cougars. That won’t be until 2016, however, as the wide receiver won’t play in the remainder of the 2014 season and will have to sit out the 2015 season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules.
