Huskies lose backup RB for 2011 season
Washington running back Deontae Cooper already missed the entire 2010 season when he suffered an ACL injury to his left knee last August.
Unfortunately for Cooper, and the UW rushing attack, it appears the freshman has suffered yet another ACL tear to the same knee, coach Steve Sarkisian told the Seattle Times today. The injury, once again, is expected to sideline the promising four-star back from California for the entire 2011 season.
To make matters worse, Cooper re-injured his knee during a non-contact conditioning drill. Cooper had surgery for the knee on Wednesday evening.

Washington sophomore RB Deontae Cooper tore his right ACL during a non-contact practice Wednesday.
Cooper has torn the ACL in his left knee two times in only two years since joining the Huskies. He was expected to be slowly brought into the fold to make up for the loss of Chris Polk at running back, but will obviously now miss the season. The sophomore has yet to play in a collegiate football game because of the knee injuries.

He changed his mind
Thursday, Washington announced that tight end Joshua Perkins and running back Willis Wilson had been dismissed from the football program for violating unspecified team rules. Friday, however, head coach Steve Sarkisian channeled his inner Frank Drebin.
In a somewhat unexpected move, Sarkisian confirmed Friday to media covering the team that both of the players have been reinstated.

Washington picks up corner from Alabama
After enrolling at Alabama in January of this year after transferring in from the JUCO ranks, Travell Dixon abruptly decided to leave the Tide football program shortly after the start of summer camp because of personal reasons.
A month later, it appears the cornerback has found a new campus to ply his football wares.
First reported by Scout.com, Dixon has decided to transfer to Washington and play for the Huskies. If the move officially comes to fruition, Dixon would be forced to sit out the 2012 season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules — he’d be permitted to practice with his new team — and be eligible to play in 2013
