May have lost some depth at WR

According to an initial report from GamecockCentral.com — an affiliate of Rivals — and citing sources close to the situation, redshirt junior receiver Bryce Sherman has abruptly “left” the team for yet-to-be-specified reasons.

And we put “left” in quotations because, apparently, Sherman’s departure is news to his position coach, Steve Spurrier Jr. Spurrier Jr. told GamecockCentral that if Sherman has left the team, the receiver hasn’t informed him.

Sherman's scholarship wasn't renewed this year. He was given a scholly as a walkon 2 years ago when we had about 7 extra after all of the signed players were awarded. We don't have any extra this year and seeing how he's a walkon and doesn't contribute his couldn't be renewed.

Spurrier said Connor Shaw is going to start on Saturday versus ECU; he's good, but I wouldn't change him as the starter on your roster; maybe he's sending a message to Stephen Garcia.

Lattimore done for the season--which in my opinion means the Gamecocks are done. What people don't understand is even though he might get 60-something rushing yards in a game, just the mere threat of having him in the backfield is enough.

Even though I'm a Tar Heel fan, I chose the Gamecocks to run with this year. Latt is averaging around 180 yards on the ground for me and is the front runner for the Heisman. If only you could turn "injuries off" in real life.

What's up with all of the ACL tears this year? We've had 4 alone just at USC. Time for Brandon Wilds to step up...I'm liking the direction our offense is headed under Shaw.

Yo--I tore mine in June (along with my MCL and meniscus) and it's NO JOKE. I had surgery in July and will be in physical therapy until at least January. I have the utmost respect for college/pro athletes because I hurt it playing basketball and there is no way I'm ever playing again--these guys come back to their respective sports. I can tell you that it's true what they say--you can hear it pop, and I never thought this was true but even my doctor said it: your knee will ache depending on the weather.

I hope these guys have speedy recoveries. It's something you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy; even if your worse enemy is a Clemson Tiger!

It's expected 6-9 months for Marcus. He's a warrior; I wouldn't be surprised to see him ready to go in 6. cheers
