Well, I can't believe I did it but after a thinking about it, I decided to trade the game. I really got to the point were the unplayability and the just overall lack of support for the game on the makers part got to be to much. I truely don't even thing that they are even going to get a patch through. What should have been a month ago is still not here. Now I understand the whole thing of trying to get it right and having to get the system company approval but how long? I bought something that I can only really half use. Offline dynasty doesn't work right, and with all the gameplay glitches and the fact that Heisman simply isn't hard enough, I just can't play it anymore. We are now into week two of the real season and with a game that is broken and unplayable... Really? I have had more freezing and glitching than I have with all the other games I have played combined. So with that being said I will still be on here and trying to help with the uniform changes if I see any and the general good natured banter but now I am focused and ready for Forza 4. One month and some change to the best car racing game ever!!!!

Anyone one else on the trade wagon?

Rumor is the patch will be released on the 7th, but that's just what it is right now--a rumor. You are right though--they seem to offer no support for the game & the consumers. It's not perfect nor is it horrible, but if I turned out a broken product like that at my job, my job would be in serious jeopardy. When they said that when NCAA 12 was released they started working on NCAA 13 they weren't kidding. Hold of on 13 & get 12 fixed--seems logical to me. Patches are possible & needed, so take your mind off of NCAA 13 & fix the game in front of you--NCAA 12.

Bingo...... Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner. JD, you hit that spot on. I just don't get it though, they put out a product knowing that people would be in the state they are now. Playing what I consider to be an un-playable game. You are right also that it is not totally bad. Some things were cool but for me and the amount of money I spent the few things that were right and or neat add-ons just didn't justify the money that I spend. That $60 could have been a tank of gas or something that I actually needed, but my parents bought it for me as a late birthday present and here it is 2 months later and well what do we have a game that isn't hardly anymore functional than the demo.

I have bought my last EA game. I am not the type of person that just says things like this. I bought TW12 this year and this happened with it also but it was fixed within a week or so if I remember correctly and what has it been now?....... 2 months and some change...... It just doesn't fly with me. With the cost of games now they should be putting out MUCH better product than this.

I also don't get that for example there is NCAA Basketball 2010 (2010 mind you). The game, even with the glitches and all is really cool, fun to play and most of all closer to realistic than this years NCAA football was. Could just be me as I follow college football much more closely than basketball but nonetheless know enough to know that the game is great compare to what I gave up money for this year. Even when most complain, I usually still like the game and enjoy it for what it is but this year, I just can't do it anymore and especially with no response from EA.

And what really chaps me is the fact that several places are doing full refunds because I called them and Gamestop is not and even the employees know the game isn't up to any sort of standard and the guy even said, "Sorry about your luck this game doesn't even work for what you buy it for". Its kind of hard to play a dynasty with all the freezing and glitches and cheating AI.

So thats my soap box for today and now on to check Forza 4.

Funny you got it as a birthday present; you never see me complaining about NCAA Football because I never pay for it! My birthday is early July and I read so many complaints about each year's game that I never buy it...but I get it for a birthday present every year. If I did pay for it, I probably would get frustrated like you and many others; Luv's rosters make the game a lot better for me.

What I don't get is what I mentioned before. I read an NBA 2K12 preview that (also) said as soon as NBA 2K11 was released, work began on NBA 2K12--literally. I just don't understand why, and they're not exaggerating. EA should have halted starting work on NCAA Football 13 to address issues with the current game. They've gotta be smarter than me, so hopefully I'M the one who's missing something. I'm not bashing the game because I never expect a perfect game; it's just EA should take note of people like you that trade the game in not because they are done with it, but because they are DONE with it because bugs and glitches have rendered the game unplayable.

Winner again. You brought up another thought. I read a few months back that EA was in trouble due to sales (gee what a shock). Have you seen the game site that says best sales ever? Yeah, I am sure they made money, of course guys like me bought it believing the hype. Look for a second though at Forza (for example - just because I have been following it for a while). I know that it is too not perfect but the game was amazing experience (Forza 3), look at the Forza 4 site and forums. The stuff that has been released is final product video and images and it is amazing.

Again though, just my thoughts.

BTW, getting ready to send you an e-mail.

I love how people complain about the cost of games and technology and the expectation that it should be cheaper. A cell phone game is charging $1?! Outrageous! If you were to go back to the early 90's you'd pay over $80 for NBA Jam in some stores.
Marquee titles from the 90's would be a lot more expensive today if you calculated inflation into it: Ars Technica Article Link
In one console generation, the cost to make a 360/PS3 game versus XBox/PS2 game is 2-3 times more than it was 5 years ago, yet the games still only cost us $60 in retail. And you figure that's what the retail giant is charging, the actual publisher is only charging the Targets/Gamestops/Wal-Marts/etc about $16 a game.

If you figure EA spends at least $10 million on the game's development, they would need to sell 625,000 copies of the game at the $16 a pop I referenced above. Add into that the cost of advertising, server maintenance, creation of the game and shipping of products to stores/customers, NCAA licensing costs (huge), and more, than yeah, EA may cover their costs, but NCAA Football is not raking in the cash for them and they'll barely eek out a profit.

I have no intent to create any type of flame arguments, I don't want to defend EA for their broken product, and I fully respect your opinions. However, the general consensus that things are too expensive is ridiculous in today's environment. Gaming is a fun hobby, but it is expensive, and should be far more expensive than it already is. With the economy as it is, tough choices have to be made (your $60 tank of gas as a great example). I probably buy 3-4 games a year now instead of the usual 6-7, and of those 4 games, they're probably used or a $20 digital download. It's how I've adapted my lifestyle of handling the rise in gas costs, the insane costs of my student loans, and the need to be involved in other activities. At least the game was given to you for free! Smile

As far as Heisman being too easy, before dumping the game, did you try experimenting with bumping up the sliders to make the game more difficult? We play our Online Franchise on All-American, but we have a modified slider set to make the CPU vs. User games more difficult to keep interest and competition tight throughout the year.

NCAA Basketball and NCAA Football were made by two completely different teams underneath EA, comparing the product's quality is like comparing apples and oranges. Granted their quality reflects on EA, they are still different.

I'm sorry you couldn't find enjoyment in the game, I'm loving it, and I'm loving Madden even more. Both games have broken features waiting for patches, but the gameplay is tight (outside of tendencies in NCAA and Online Franchise/Custom Playbooks in Madden) and gameplay is king in a sports game.

What needs to happen is that EA needs some competition and get its monoply on the football gaming industry undone. You see what 2K Sports did to them with the NBA. Destroyed them. So much so EA didn't even release NBA Live last. Thats why they locked up the NFL after NFL 2K came out in like what, 05? They saw the writing on the wall that with the next gen systems coming out 2K was going to destroy them in football as well. And 2k sold their game for $20!!! I remember that year, I didn't buy Madden and bought 2K. I still have that game, TO was on the cover. THe presentation was awesome as was the gameplay. EA takes us, the consumer for granted. THey figure they are the only pro and college football game in town so people will buy regardless of what they put out. Its pretty sad. Hopefully their contract with the NFL and NCAA ends soon and 2K can jump in and give us some options.

Hopefully the statement you made that I put in bold is correct!!!!! I just read on another forum that Gamestops and several others are only giving $5.00 in credit for it, looks like I traded mine just in time!! I just wish that they would have done something about it. I don't know much about computer things and I know that it is not a simple process to fix something but with the amount of people that work on these games and the fact that they have already give up on it in a way for the start of 13 it just seems wrong to me.
