Re: Nebraska Projected Depth Chart
You're good with the ol' copy and paste. haha I saw the same article. I don't know how much is a smokescreen by the coaches since practice is held from the media, or if it's an attempt to motivate the few upperclassmen we have to work harder.
Re: Nebraska Projected Depth Chart
DE Joseph Carter is making a stronger push for starting time every day. Cameron Meredith is a guaranteed starter, but expect Carter, Eric Martin, and Jason Ankrah to battle it out up through the 1st week of the season.
Linebackers have been shuffled up a bit as well.
Will (Typically ROLB) LaVonte David
backup: Mathew May
backup: Graham Stoddard
Mike (MLB) Will Compton
*backup: Sean Fisher
backup 2/3/4: Graham Stoddard, Trevor Roach, David Santos
Buck (LOLB) Sean Fisher
*backup: Alonzo Whaley <-- Making a strong push to start with the move outside.
backup: Graham Stoddard
I'm guessing if(when) Compton gets hurt, Nebraska will shift Fisher over and throw their "Peso" look on the field with a 3rd safety/corner hybrid either Daimion Stafford or Courtney Osborne, whoever loses the starting safety spot between them. And then if they have to go bigger, Whaley will come on the field in short yardage looks.

Re: Nebraska Projected Depth Chart
Carl Pelini confirmed that Jason Ankrah will start opposite Meredith at DE, and that Williams would be the 3rd guy in. I expect to see both Carter and Martin too, just don't know when.
Also confirmed that if Dennard doesn't go (and it sounds like he wont) it will be Green and Evans at corner, with Blatchford, Mitchell, and Washington all seeing time. Also said as many as 5 safeties would play Saturday.
Bo said to expect to see a lot of Spencer Long at Right Guard. It will be either him or Cotton who starts, Thompson at LG.

Re: Nebraska Projected Depth Chart
Week 1 Observations:
-->SS Daimion Stafford can hit! May have earned him a couple points higher on the ol' Hit Power.Stafford vid
-->Due to the sheer number of RB's, Nebraska did line up Austin Jones at FB on occassion just to get him some reps. Might need to bump up his blocking skills a bit if this continues.
Ameer Abdullah fielded all punts and showed some great burst and elusiveness. I believe he made at least one guy miss on each return. The only defender to tackle him on the first try was our own player trying to block somebody and not paying attention.
All three freshman RB's are quicker and more athletic than Rex Burkhead. Either Rex needs to be bumped down to the high 80's for speed (88/89), or the backs need to be bumped up to the low 90's (91/92/93/94). The freshmen trio are shiftier and have gamebreaking speed, but they're nowhere near as balanced/powerful as Rex.
