Nearly two years after being granted a release from his Michigan scholarship before ever playing a down for the Wolverines, and nearly the same amount of time after it was reported he would land at Louisville or even Florida State, former five-star recruit Demar Dorsey has finally found himself a new Div. 1-A (FBS) football home.

And, as it turns out, it’s not even remotely close geographically to the schools previously mentioned.

First reported by SBNation.com and subsequently confirmed by Bruce Feldman of CBSSports.com, the once-touted defensive back is heading to Hawaii to play for the Warriors this season. Per Feldman, Dorsey is expected to arrive at the school in July.

Feldman also writes on Twitter that “Hawaii will have to petition NCAA for Demar Dorsey to be eligible this fall”, presumably referring to the academic side of the equation as Dorsey has been away from the 1-A level for the better part of two years.

Hawaii picks up two 2012 eligible transfers

Hawaii announced earlier this week that offensive lineman Kapua Sai and quarterback Sean Schroeder have decided to transfer to the school and play for the Warriors. The former, who’s actually the brother of one of the Warriors’ 2012 signees, comes to the island from Utah, while the latter is transferring in from Duke.

As both of the players have already graduated from their previous institutions, they will be eligible to play immediately in 2012

Hawaii gains transfer LB from UCLA

Senior Iuta Tepa will transfer from UCLA to Hawaii and is expected to line up at OLB.

Tepa has experience as a pass rushing defensive end at UCLA, but in Hawaii's defense he will fit best as an outside linebacker. The senior only saw action off the bench, but played in 25 games in the last two years and registered 11 tackles for loss including three sacks.
