I think he will make about as much of an impact as Jeremiah Masoli made for Ole Miss last year (although Wisconsin will do better than Ole Miss did)

good comparison there....too hard of a transition in one year, especially not sitting out a year with that particular team like a Ryan Mallet did

Yeah I just really don't like the idea of adding a quarterback in July and expecting him to do great things with your offense. Personally, I wouldn't have wanted Wilson if my team needed a quarterback at this time.

Yeah I agree that he is better than Masoli. I just don't like the idea of adding a quarterback in July and expecting him to do great things. I think Wisconsin has a very good chance to win the Big Ten. I just don't think Wilson will be as great as some think he will.

I wonder what type of numbers Wilson could have put up in Auburn's spread offense.

Wisconsin's is a much safer offense, I'm sure he'll do fine, but Wilson and Malzahn could have been special.

Auburn Lost alot from last years championship squad....Wisconsin has the killer run game to fall back on...Nick Toon is a pretty good receiver...Should be a fun team to watch

Wilison was actually a great QB and people didn't see that. look at his number compared with others in the ACC and NCAA.

Hurts their depth, but O'Brien is starting
Wisconsin’s quarterback depth was an issue during spring practice. As it turns out, that will likely carry over into the 2012 season.

Coach Bret Bielema confirmed Wednesday that QBs Jon Budmayr and Bart Houston are both expected to miss the fall with hip and shoulder injuries, respectively. Budmayr had been dealing with a nerve issue in the elbow of his throwing arm, an injury that caused him to miss all of last season, but now needs hip surgery.

“So the chances of him being involved next year are slim to none,” Bielema said.

Houston, a highly-touted recruit in the Badgers’ 2012 signing class, had shoulder surgery this offseason. Though Bielema previously said he expected his new QB to be available (but limited) for fall camp, Houston now has a spring 2013 prognosis.

The injuries leave the Badgers with three healthy QBs: Maryland transfer Danny O’Brien, Joe Brennan and walk-on Joel Stave. Backup Curt Phillips is still recovering from knee surgery. Suffice to say, the pressure’s going to be on O’Brien to stay healthy for Wisconsin this fall*.

Wisconsin DT has to give up football
The playing career for Wisconsin defensive tackle Jordan Kohout has unfortunately been cut short due to migraines.

Kohout, who started seven games for the Badgers as a freshman in 2010, began experiencing the headaches in spring practices. An MRI that showed he had suffered two minor strokes. As a result, his playing days are over but he will stay on medical scholarship.

Wisconsin loses starting offensive tackle
After several run-ins with his position coach, Casey Dehn left the Wisconsin football program in the middle of last year.

He was welcomed back by head coach Bret Bielema, and exited spring practice as the Badgers’ starting right tackle. Unfortunately for a UW squad that lost three starting lineman to attrition after last season, it appears Dehn won’t be around to help replace the experience lost, either.

Citing a source close to the player, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting that Dehn is not expected to return to the team in 2012. No reason was given for the decision, and the school has yet to confirm — or deny — the lineman’s departure.

The 6-6, 335-pound Dehn – Bielema refers to him as “a genetic freak” — played in 17 games the past two seasons, starting one of those contests. In addition to vying for the starting job at right tackle, he was also being looked at as a starting possibility at right guard.

You may want to include Curt Phillips in V1 if given the chance at QB, Budmayr will miss the season once again along with Bart Houston due to injury.

Dehn and Kohout are offically not a part of the team anymore while incoming frosh DJ Singleton did not qualify academically for the fall semester.

Well they fired the O-Line coach today, with more coming potentially. It's been a tough first couple games, O'Brien is no Russell Wilson but they didn't even get the run game going. Abbrederis and Johnson got hurt early too. Still time to bounce back though.

Big Game this week...Facing a tough Utah State coming off an upset Victory over their bitter rival....I have a feeling the Badgers will right the ship though....I think the Aggies blew their Wad....A must win game for Wisconsin though

Hey Luv, been awhile since I've posted any updates but hope you're still working on rosters!

Devin Gaulden tore his ACL last month and is out for the year, but Peniel Jean is back and Darius Hillary has been playing CB/S all year. He can be replaced on the depth chart by Terrance Floyd who's been playing over Mitchell so far.

Shelton Johnson has also returned from injury and is starting again, and Muldoon, Dippel and Kelly have been rotating quite a bit opposite Gilbert the last couple games depending on who is healthy.
