Virgin, Bravo-Brown, McGhin not back with Bulls
USF coach Skip Holtz addressed the media Sunday as his players reported for the start of fall camp, and all told, six scholarship players who were to be with the Bulls won't be with the program this fall.
Defensive backs Ricardo Dixon and Spencer Boyd, as expected, won't be back, and Holtz had news Sunday that three junior backups -- tight end Isaac Virgin, receiver Stephen Bravo-Brown and guard John McGhin, would not be with the team. Freshman safety Jarvis McCall of Armwood had a "situation" over the summer, Holtz said, and is expected to join the team in January.
None of the six were in position to play significant roles for the Bulls -- Virgin, a highly touted recruit when he came to USF, never realized that potential and had just one catch last season. Bravo-Brown was a walk-on who had been placed on scholarship last fall, but he had only four catches in 2011; McGhin actually graduated Saturday in just three years at USF and will not be using his remaining years of eligibility.
Dixon has already transferred to I-AA Youngstown State, and Boyd had been gone from the team, then was allowed back for spring drills under certain stipulations which were not met.
Holtz said he has promised senior walk-on safety Ernie Tabuteau he will be placed on scholarship this fall.

Re: List of Non-Returning Scholarship Players
This is from day one of practice.
OL John McGhin graduated Saturday and is no longer with the team. Also gone are DBs Ricardo Dixon, Spencer Boyd and Jarvis McCall, WR Stephen Bravo-Brown and TE Isaac Virgin.
McCall will return to the team next spring after family issues arose this summer, according to Holtz.
Former walk-on WR Jordan Duval remains suspended and is not with the team following his arrest for an on-campus theft in July.
Bulls bits
Holtz said the team only has two injuries as it opens camp with both stemming from spring practice. DT Cory Grissom (ankle) and DE Anthony Hill (ACL) are both recovering on schedule and could be able to return for the season opener and midseason, respectively. … Though coach Vernon Hargreaves remains responsible for the majority of special teams, Holtz said he's given the other coaches more special teams responsibilities than ever before.
