The End of an Era

Post by luvtotha9s on Fri Feb 15, 2013 12:56 pm

My baby...my Phatty PS3,refused to turn on today...maybe she knew this was really the end...but it's definitely a sad day...and probably the end of my video game days...Thanks to all, who came along with me on this crazy journey these past 5-6 years...No words could express how grateful I am, to everyone(Friends,Fans,Followers), who have been by my side this whole time. The timing is scary...reminds me of when I went to trade in my old car and my old baby died on the way to the dealership...Fuck, I'm sad Sad ...luckily, as fate would have it, I did transfer an early stage of Version 6 onto a flash drive just last night...so Version 6 should see the light of day soon...

Let's remember the good times, and how you got started doing all of this. I have a bunch of questions I want to ask you on how you do the rosters, and about you as a person in general. I'll start off by asking this....

You mentioned in years past that you like to work alone while doing the rosters. Visiting sites like OP, GT, etc., in which they collaborate on almost all of the rosters, I'm asking why you choose to work alone, AND, take me through the process of how to edit my team, ASU, specifically. What websites do you visit, what stats do you look at...everything.

I always chose to work alone, because humans tend to make errors, and although I'm human, I knew if I used help from others, being the perfectionist that I am...It would take longer to correct others mistakes, than for me just to do the whole kit and kaboodle myself. I mainly use the teams official website and get a grasp of each team's initial depth chart, and then work from there. I have always taken input from all College Football fans across the nation(Not always using their input, but taking it in nontheless). Then as the season progresses, I use the official stats of the real life team, checking all participation charts, to see who actually gets in the game. That is a key...and what I always strive for...getting the guys that actually play, into the game. x124 and there you have it.

next question...

If you can do do it all over again, what would you do differently, in regard to your rosters. I'm talking ANYTHING.

Also...
what do advice do you have for someone that has never made rosters, but is planning on getting a small group together to make them for NCAA 14, for their own private use.

I don't believe in looking back and changing anything...It's been a sometimes fun Ride, and my rosters always spoke for themselves, but If I had to choose one thing...It's probably not sending all IC members unique, individual copies of Version 1(Like I did for later versions), so I could have known for certain who leaked my Roster...that bugged me the most, because I felt so helpless and hated having to change things on the fly and shutting down the IC...Because as you know, my word means everything to me...The best advice I could give to any future roster makers is...work hard, work thoroughly, work accurately...It's a neverending process, and it is definitely not for the faint of heart...but at the end of the day, once you finish, it can be very rewarding...if you are going to work as a group, make sure you are all on the same page and all of you realize what a commitment it takes to do them how I did them...every day of your life for 6 months...it's a motherfucking Gauntlet...but it is the only way to get them almost exactly perfect.

Update: I got her to turn on today and it stayed on long enough for me to make some Draft Updates and transfer to a flash drive...Going to take it in to a shop and see if there is anything that can be done...ever since I took the vaccum to it, it has responded a bit better, but something is still off.
