DT Calvin Smith transfers, big loss for that program considering he was a 4 star recruit

In a release, the school announced that Smith had asked for, and been granted, a release from his Lobos scholarship. Smith, a native of Hialeah, Fla., said he was leaving the program in order to get back closer to move closer to home.

Former Virginia Tech quarterback Ricardo Young has found his way to New Mexico. Young has enrolled at school and was on the practice field this morning.

He won't be eligible to play in 2011, but will be an interesting piece to the quarterback battle in 2012.

two members of the New Mexico football program have been suspended indefinitely following arrests for unrelated incidents over the weekend. The two players currently residing in Davie’s Lobo doghouse? Junior quarterback David Vega and sophomore defensive back Devonta Tabannah.
