Sam is taking a huge chance, if he slips in the draft it won't be because of his playing abilities...dude is a player. Definitely eager to watch this play out.

He is getting drafted, people are overreacting. He has the talent. My issue is with him making the announcement prior to the draft. He is using this as a reason if he gets drafted lower than projected, which is not fair to an NFL team.

I doubt he will.  Kerry Rhodes was a top safety (from what I've heard),  and he still can't find a job because he was "outed".

Well I disagree. Rhodes was on the downside of his career. The Chargers brought him in and he couldn't even pass the physical. Sam is getting drafted. Will teams pass on him? Sure, with their bias, their desire to not have the extra media attention/controversy, but Sam will be drafted.

It is just like Kluewe. He can vent all he wants, but it is your actual performance that determines whether you are on the field or not. He couldn't even beat out a rookie free agent punter with the Raiders.

Talent will always rise above other issues, whether someone has committed a crime, or said racist comments (Riley Cooper), drug issues (Josh Hamilton), alcohol issues, etc.
