AuburnUndercover.com reported this weekend that backup linebackers Chris Landrum and Harris Gaston will transfer to Jacksonville State. Ryan Wood of the Opelika-Auburn News later confirmed that both players had been granted their release. An Auburn spokesperson confirmed to al.com that Landrum has left the team, though the same could not be said for Gaston.

Speaking to the Memphis Commercial Appeal, Chase Robison confirmed that he will continue his playing career at Auburn. Robison decided to transfer from Tech after Tommy Tuberville abruptly left Lubbock to take the Cincinnati job.
He will have to sit out the 2013 season, but will three years of eligibility remaining beginning in 2014.

Tight end Ricky Parks has been dismissed by Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn for an undisclosed violation of team rules, the coach announced following Friday's first practice of fall camp.

Malzahn said Monday that former starting quarterback Kiehl Frazier made a permanent move to safety today after it became clear a majority of the quarterback reps going forward would go to Nick Marshall (a former Georgia cornerback) and Jeremy Johnson (there’s a Mack Brown joke in here somewhere). While the decision to narrow the QB race was the coaching staff’s choice, the decision to move to the defensive side of the ball was, according to Malzahn, all Frazier’s idea.

Mere hours after reports surfaced of the arrest of Demetruce McNeal, Auburn announced that the starting defensive back has been abruptly and somewhat surprisingly dismissed from the football program.

The first-year Tigers coach announced on Saturday that Nick Marshall, a junior who originally signed with Georgia in 2011 as a defensive back, would be the team’s starting signal caller for 2013.
