Cody Green, QB, transfers from Nebraska

As first reported by ESPN.com‘s Joe Schad, and subsequently confirmed by Steven Sipple of the Lincoln Journal Star, junior QB Cody Green has requested a release from his NU scholarship and will likely transfer from the football program. The Journal Star reports that Green informed head coach Bo Pelini of his intentions Friday.

Nebraska loses another QB, this time by retirement

Such is the case with Nebraska quarterback Kody Spano (pictured third behind Taylor Martinez), who officially called it quits via Twitter yesterday after dealing with multiple injuries to his knees and shoulder over the past few years.

“As you may have heard, I am hanging up my shoulder pads… However, if the administration allows it, I can still be your favorite Husker!” Spano tweeted. “I will also continue to be with the team this year and the next. You’ll see me on the sidelines signaling in plays!”

Hey luv, I can't believe you're pushing player equipment edits into your first release, I call you crazy on that, but know you're up to the challenge. While I'd rather just have names and minor ratings edits to start, I see DazDRob posting the photo links for equipment to reference. I was going to offer a list of key players and their usual equipment for ease of use. Gloves: Offense has kick ass red/white 'N' logo gloves, whereas the defense will rock red/black 'Blackshirt' logo gloves. Unfortunately, this is expected to be a 1 game only thing, but you can probably just use them for the default roster as a 'wow' effect haha. Also, all visors should be Adidas, but Oakley will have to do since the only other options are Nike and Under Armour. Because of the new no huddle offense, a lot of newer players still learning playbooks have QB Wristbands too.

Huskers lose top recruit Bubba Starling to baseball

According to the Omaha World-Herald, defensive back Dijon Washington has decided to leave the Cornhuskers. No reason was given for the decision, and to where the Lawndale, Calif., product may ultimately transfer is unknown.

Nebraska loses OL to transfer

According to the Peoria Journal Star, Ryan Klachko has decided to leave the Nebraska football program and continue his playing career elsewhere

Nebraska picks up Auburn DB

Earlier this week, the father of Jonathan Rose stated that the chances were “pretty good” that his son would transfer in to Nebraska from Auburn.

At the end of the business week, those odds went from “pretty good” to “signed, sealed and delivered.”

The defensive back confirmed to al.com that he signed with the Cornhuskers Friday morning. Rose will take a redshirt for the 2012 season, but he will be permitted to practice with his new teammates throughout the fall.
