Named their starting QB

Idaho head coach Robb Akey has named junior Dominique Blackman his starting QB.

Blackman transferred prior to last season from Old Dominion and was forced to redshirt due to NCAA regulations. However, out of high school he originally signed with Washington but never played for the Huskies. In two preseason scrimmages, Blackman completed 25-of-35 passes for 348 yards and six touchdowns, without throwing an interception. He bested junior Taylor Davis in the competition for the starting gig.

Idaho dismisses two players

The university announced that starting quarterback and quarterback Dominique Blackman and linebacker Conrad Scheidt have been dismissed from the team for violating team rules. Tight end Taylor Elmo has also been suspended for violating athletic department policy.
