Some notes on the depth chart (not ratings thoughts)...

Gator is right about Donald Russell.

DE Nerman Delic has left the team, but expects to return next year after a redshirt year.

DT Brice Laughlin and S Dakotah Tyler have left the team, apparently permanently (Tyler _may_ be back next year, but uncertain).

These would require ratings adjustments...

WR Gene McCaskill is expected to start ahead of Matt Roark. McCaskill was listed No. 2 out of spring because he's recovering from knee surgery.

WLB Qua Huzzie was listed No. 3 out of spring because of an injury, but is (easily) ahead of Malcolm McDuffen.

True FR HBs Josh Clemons and Marcus Caffey are expected to compete for the No. 2 spot behind Sanders based on summer talk (more rumor than sure thing on that one). Similarly, true FR Theltus Cobbins (recruited as QB) is likely to play multiple roles in his first year, a la Randall Cobb, primarily as a WR.

If/when you think about ratings adjustments, I'd be happy to help on UK. I don't overstate things, but do adjust to get the depth chart correct.

So is Burchett going to be the 3rd QB? I figured that Cobbins would be the 3rd QB but him playing WR makes sense. It doesn't seem as if you have much depth at all behind Newton.

Cobbins has apparently been promised a shot at playing QB -- much like Cobb was when he came in -- but the thinking is that he's such a good athlete, they have to get him on the field and spending time working him as the No. 3 QB obviously isn't the way to do it.

I think if Newton goes down, Maxwell Smith is the clear No. 2 -- everybody is just raving about his maturity and command of the game -- and at that time, Cobbins would quickly get a crash course in playing QB. Until then, Cobbins will get packages and only limited QB work.

Realistically, Burchett, Phillippi and Russell (the other listed QBs) will never see the field against a 1-A opponent.
