Team dismisses key linebacker

One player we’re certain won’t be a Rocket in 2011, however, is Isaiah Ballard.

In a press release, head coach Tim Beckman announced that senior Ballard has been removed from the football team for violation of team policies. Of course, the specific violation was not given.

Ballard started all 13 games for the Rockets as a junior outside linebacker in 2010. He was third on the team with 83 tackles.

Pick up Ohio State transfer

Late last week it was reported that ex-Ohio State defensive lineman Kenny Hayes had decided to continue his collegiate playing career at Toledo.

A handful of days later, that report has officially come to fruition.

The Rockets announced via a press release Tuesday that Parker has indeed transferred into the football program. The defensive end will be forced to sit out the 2013 season, and will have three years of eligibility remaining beginning in 2013.
