Nebraska’s DE Avery Moss banned from campus, won’t play for Huskers in 2014

Among the roster changes this spring for Nebraska is the absence of safety Harvey Jackson. Jackson is not listed on Nebraska’s spring roster, a surprising development considering he would have been one of the most experienced players in the Nebraska secondary. There has been no word on why Jackson is no longer on the roster according to multiple reports

Last month, erstwhile Washington wide receiver Damore’ea Stringfellow was quoted as saying that “Nebraska is definitely a team I’m considering” transferring to.

Less than two weeks later, Stringfellow is definitely headed to the Midwest.

While the school has yet to announce his addition, Stringfellow told HuskersIllustrated.com that he has decided to continue his playing career with the Cornhuskers. The player stated that his new position coach played a significant role in his decision.

Should the California native transfer to Nebraska or any other FBS program, he would have to sit out the 2014 season but would maintain three years of eligibility beginning in 2015.

The lure of receiving seven figures was enough to help convince WR Monte Harrison to pass on an opportunity to play football and baseball at Nebraska. After being drafted with the 50th overall pick in the 2014 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers, Harrison has decided to skip college and enter the minor league system of the Brewers.

If there is a quota to fill on players named Martinez at Nebraska, the Huskers could be in some trouble. After already losing quarterback Taylor Martinez to graduation, the Cornhuskers will also lose his brother, safety Drake Martinez. The younger of the Martinez brothers intends to transfer from Nebraska.

I hope these are fake, but I read that Nebraska is coming out with all red unis.

These are absolutely atrocious.

A week ago, Bo Pelini was extolling the progress Charles Jackson had made this past spring as Nebraska’s nickel cornerback.

Now, Pelini and his defensive coaching staff must find a replacement.

The NU head coach announced Thursday night that Jackson a knee injury severe enough that he will require surgery. That surgery and subsequent rehab will keep him off the field for the entire 2014 season.

Following practice Saturday, head coach Bo Pelini confirmed that Michael Rose-Ivey will be lost for the season after suffering a knee injury. The linebacker took to social media late last night to announce that the injury he incurred was likely of the season-ending variety.

“Nebraska sophomore defensive back LeRoy Alexander has been suspended from competition for the 2014 football season. Alexander will remain on scholarship as a member of the Nebraska football program and will be allowed to practice with the team. Coach Pelini and the Nebraska Athletics Department will have no additional comment on this matter.”
