Chip Sarafin, a non-scholarship offensive lineman, has come out publicly as gay (not that there's anything wrong with it).
Chip is a Sun Devil, and so am I!

Re: ASU NEWS 2014
Late last month it was reported that Ruben Ibarra would be transferring from Purdue to Arizona State.
A couple of weeks later? Never mind.
Doug Haller of the Arizona Republic tweeted Wednesday that the linebacker “will not join the team after all.” No reason was given for the abrupt about-face, nor is there any word on where, if any place, Ibarra will head to finish out his collegiate career.

Re: ASU NEWS 2014
I didn't go to the Camp Tontozona scrimmage this year, so here is some analysis from Bob Kemp, a well respected independent journalist from Tempe.
1. CAMP TONTOZONA SHOULD HAVE BEEN RENAMED “PRECAUTIONARY CITY”: rarely, if ever, have I seen a practice with more players in NO TOUCH jerseys. As a result, Saturday’s scheduled scrimmage became a practice. The 2014 Sun Devils can’t afford injuries to any key performers because experience and quality depth is lacking.
2. SPEAKING OF INEXPERIENCE AND QUALITY DEPTH: Saturday’s practice was filled with more penalties and mental mistakes than any ASU practice I have attended during the Todd Graham era. Also, there is a significant drop-off from the first units to the second units, especially on offense.
3. A HEALTHY MARCUS BALL WOULD MAKE THE DEFENSE MUCH BETTER: Ball, who missed last season with a shoulder injury suffered during the final 2013 practice at Camp Tontozona, has been restricted from contact this training camp because of a medical condition. Ball is a playmaker, and if combined with Damarious Randall, the Sun Devils could have the best safety tandem in the Pac 12 Conference.
4. THE PASS RUSH IS LACKING: De’Marieya Nelson is being developed into a pass rusher out of desperation. ASU, almost certainly, is going to struggle rushing the quarterback without blitzing. That is the reason, Nelson, a valuable offensive and special teams player, is the Devil Backer on passing downs. Nelson spent most of Saturday either playing defense or working on pass rush drills.
5. D.J. FOSTER DOES NOT HAVE TO LINE UP AT RUNNING BACK EVERY DOWN: Demario Richard was the most impressive player on the field on Saturday. The 5-10, 203 pound freshman displayed quickness to the outside and power up the middle during a goal-line portion. Unfortunately, Kalen Ballage, another impressive freshman, missed a sixth consecutive practice because of back issues.
6. THE DAY FROM HELL: Kyle Middlebrooks, four years ago, appeared headed to a big-time career as a kick returner and multi-purpose offensive player. That career has been plagued by injuries and, on Saturday, he muffed a pair of punts and fumbled an offensive running play, which capped a “not good” 16 days of practices, according to daily observers.

The copper color is a nod to the state of Arizona, which has historically been the most abundant mineral in Arizona with copper mines littering the area.

Four Sun Devil rookies made 53-man NFL rosters after final cuts were announced over the weekend. Will Sutton (Bears), Carl Bradford (Packers), Davon Coleman (Cowboys) and Robert Nelson (Browns). Marion Grice wasn't initially cut by the Chargers yesterday, but this morning he was put on waivers.
I hope the Chargers lose every game this season...

Brandon Oliver out performed him and that is why he didn't make the roster. Hopefully practice squad. Chargers did not need to carry 5 RBs

Re: ASU NEWS 2014
San Diego Chargers general manager Tom Telesco got his wish, with recently released running back Marion Grice clearing waivers on Tuesday and being added to the practice squad.
The Chargers released Grice, selected in the sixth-round of this year's draft, in order to add defensive tackle Ricardo Mathews to the active roster.
Telseco said on Monday the team hoped to bring back Grice on the practice squad if he cleared waivers. With Grice now in the fold, San Diego's practice squad is at a full 10 players.

Then why did they even draft him then if he had no chance of making the team? Isn;t Brandon Oliver the little dude from Buffalo? Grice has more upside than that midget.
