Re: Duke 2014 news
Unfortunately for Duke, their worst fears have been realized when it comes to their best player on the defensive side of the ball.
Following up on the ominous reports overnight, the Blue Devils confirmed in a press release Tuesday morning that Kelby Brown has a torn ACL in his left knee and will miss the entire 2014 season. The linebacker incurred the injury on the second play of Duke’s first scrimmage of summer camp Monday.

The Blue Devils confirmed Monday that TE Braxton Deaver suffered a torn ACL in his right knee during Monday’s practice. As a result, obviously, the tight end will be sidelined for all of the 2014 season.

Re: Duke 2014 news
Duke players Kelby Brown and Braxton Deaver have had quite the relationship over the past three years.
The pair both missed the 2012 season due to injury, and were both lost to injury again in August. Brown, a linebacker, tore his left ACL on Aug. 11, while Deaver, a tight end, tore his right ACL a week later.
And Monday, both players were approved by the NCAA to return in 2015 after receiving medical redshirts.
