Re: Help for Inner Circle Members
try this:
USB is great when it works, but as you're experiencing, it can still be a pain when it doesn't.
USB's really only been around for a few years, and while most of the kinks have been worked out, not all of them have. Especially if you're on an older machine or operating system version.
•
Since I don't have the specific configuration of your system, I can only make some general suggestions. USB functionality can be affected by many, many things.
"USB functionality can be affected by many, many things."Make certain that your version of Windows is up to date by visiting Windows Update. There have been updates to the USB support in almost every version of Windows, especially the 9x and Me versions.
Make certain that your system BIOS is up to date. BIOS support is an important part of USB support, and just like the operating system, there have been updates. Exactly where and how to get an updated BIOS will vary depending on the manufacturer of your computer - check with them.
Make certain that your USB hardware drivers are up to date. The drivers are the hardware-specific interface between Windows and the USB ports. Getting updates to these drivers will depend on the manufacturer of your computer, or the manufacturer of your USB port add-in if the USB ports are on an expansion card, so you'll need to check with them.
If you're running Windows XP, run the system file checker to ensure that Windows itself is not damaged: What is the System File Checker, and how do I run it?.
An up-to-date spyware and virus scan wouldn't hurt either.
If any software came with the devices you're having trouble with, make sure that's up to date, and installed properly.
The problem is that any or all of the above items could possibly impact your USB problems.

Re: Help for Inner Circle Members
Found this online...the problem might be the formatting of your USB....check this out "It seems that if the USB drive is formatted in FAT, and you don't want to have to press triangle to see all the files, you have to create some kind of a structure within the drive. For example, if you want mp3s to show up in the music folder on your ps3, create a folder on your USB drive called "Music". Same thing goes for "Photo" and "Video".
This way you can organize your files on PS3 too. For instance, any subfolders you create in the core folders (music, video, photo) will show up on your PS3, and you'll be able to navigate through them."

For those having trouble with the ps3 not picking up your usb or the roster file on your PS3
"when you put a USB in the PS3, you have first to create a folder called PS3, then sub folders called VIDEO, MUSIC ... or it won't recognise it, you can press triangle and select "display all""
see there : http://www.ps3za.co.za/forum/showthread.php?t=7444

Re: Help for Inner Circle Members
Two more guys are good-to-go with your rosters. I didn't get their names, but one was from Alabama and one was from Illinois (bdrhino?).
I've had a few guys from this year and last year experience some REAL difficulty (over 30 minutes on the phone), but most of the time it's pretty simple. The main issue from this year is this: be sure to order your folders correctly. If it's PS3, then BLUS..., then SAVEDATA, it won't work. Also, another problem some are having is the order PS3, SAVEDATA, VERSION1, BLUS, etc; that VERSION1 or whatever it's called can't be in the folder order.
I'm glad you guys are all set. If you're not playing with these rosters, it's like eating sushi from a gas station--it ain't the real deal, and you don't know what you're missing. Get the real stuff!

Re: Help for Inner Circle Members
Hate for my first post here to be this, but I'm having trouble copying the roster file. I made the PS3 file with the SAVEDATA inside it, and unzipped the roster BUS file into the SAVEDATA file. I then copied the PS3 file to my flash drive and put it into the PS3. The PS3 recognizes it under Saved Data Utility and when I click on the Flash Drive it allows me to see the roster file. However, the option to COPY the file is grayed out and it will not let me do it??
Anybody seen this??

Re: Help for Inner Circle Members
Nevermind guys, got it!! Played a game, came out of the game and went back in, and it let me do it. Maybe it was the USB.

Lol, like I said, maybe it was the USB or something. Anyway, these rosters are fantastic. Looks like you even did hometowns and whatnot, which is impressive. Thanks for the hard work!
