Recommendations for Changes:

1) Change QB Ricardo Clark into LE Dadi Nicholas (only bizarre position change)
Dadi Nicholas: Fr LE, 6'2, 214, #94
Reason: QB Ricardo Clark has decided to transfer and is no longer with the team. Dadi Nicholas (changed name, formerly Wedley Estime) is a freak athlete 3-star from Florida who will officially not redshirt. He is small, extremely fast and raw.

2) Change RB Daniel Dyer into FB Martin Scales
Martin Scales: r-Jr, 5'11, 207, #25
Reason: RB Daniel Dyer is a walk-on and most likely will never come close to seeing playing time... definitely not a 75OVR. Martin Scales is the backup FB and will see decent time. He is a good blocker... not a runner.

3) Change WR Willie Byrn into WR Demitri Knowles
Demitri Knowles: Fr, 6'1, 175
Reason: WR Willie Byrn is a walk-on and will never see field. Demitri Knowles, 3-star prospect, is lightening fast true FR and most talked about newcomer on offense by far! Very good chance to play this year. Definitely huge future with the Hokies.

4) Change TE Chris Hall into TE Ryan Malleck
Ryan Malleck: Fr, 6'4, 233, #88
Reason: TE Chris Hall is prepping for a year and not with team. Ryan Malleck, 3-star prospect, is very raw but athletic specimen with huge upside at TE.

6) Change DT Kwamaine Battle into DT Kris Harley
Kris Harley: Fr, 6'0", 287, #97 (huge recruit, big athlete, will not redshirt)
Reason: DT Kwamaine Battle is senior and will miss season due to injury... done with Hokies. Kris Harley, huge 4-star recruit, will officially not redshirt and will see field

7) Change SS Wiley Brown into SS Michael Cole
Michael Cole: Fr, 6'1, 202 (super-heady FR battling for 2nd string now)
Reason: SS Wiley Brown is a walk-on and will most likely never see field... definitely not a 75OVR. Michael Cole is heady 3-star prospect and athletic. Currently still battling to break 2-deep at SS as true FR.

Recommended Player Edits:
1) Increase QB Logan Thomas' Speed to 85
Note: QB Logan Thomas was a 5-star WR recruit and freak athlete. At 6'6, 260, he is not overly agile but he is very very fast... definitely more than 75speed. 85?

2) OLBs Bruce Taylor, Barquell Rivers, and Jack Tyler are all actually the MLBs. VT plays unusual ROVer system so depth charts they put out are a bit confusing.

Generally very impressed with the VT roster edits. Some late depth chart moves were picked up that I felt sure would not make it into version 1...so major props to luv, as always.

A couple suggestions, nonethless:

1. TE Christian Reeves has been moved to wideout. I would actually propose replacing him with MLB Chase Williams, who was included in the original EA roster, but got lost in the shuffle. I would consider Williams more of a sure thing than Reeves to see PT down the road.

2. DE Jaymes Gayle is very much underrated. He has been dominant throughout practice and is being touted as the next great VT DE (ala Darryl Tapp, Corey Moore, etc.). He was named defensive MVP this spring (over All-American CB Hosley). I would make him no less than 86-88 overall, pash rusher tendency but still pretty strong (He recently set VT all-time position records at the power squat and power clean and has run a 4.45 40).

Here are a few recent articles on Gayle:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/hokies-journal/post/de-james-gayle-steals-spotlight-at-virginia-techs-first-full-scrimmage/2011/04/09/AFtLkZ9C_blog.html

3. FS Antone Exum should be a little faster and SS Eddie Whitley a little slower (one reason they switched positions).

4. HB David Wilson should be faster and have a better stiff arm. He posted the top 40 time on the team during spring testing at 4.29 (http://www.hokiesports.com/football/players/wilson_david.html) Multiple mentions of Wilson as a dark horse Heisman canidate this year including the College Gameday Season Preview.

5. If making these changes make VT's overall team too good, I would drop some 2nd string numbers, especially on defense where Bud Foster has made it very clear he's confident about the starters, but depth is a concern (mainly on the D-line).

Any other VT fanatics feel free to agree/disagree...

One other thing I've noticed that needs to be fixed: The OLB's are reversed (need to make the LOLB into ROLB's and vice versa. #43 Jeron G-W and #15 Eddie Whitley play the whip and rover positions, respectively, (VT D terms for Wide side OLB and Boundary (strong) safety and should normally be on opposite sides of the field from one another. (Technically VT aligns their D according to the boundary (short side) and field (wide side) arrangement, but the best I've been able to replicate it is by playing the 4-3 Over.)
