whatever happened to them providing free updates? Last 3 have all been for sale. I might do it anyway because this might be the last game

I think they fixed that issue with the patch that came out in August. The only things that corrupt the data are the custom sounds and custom play-books.

I would get them. I only purchased one ( I think the 3rd update). We play the game almost everyday, so I think it is worth it.
