Hope he's ready to play, this team will be riding on his back. Similar situation to Lattimore and USC last year.gator3guy wrote:Hello Isaiah Crowell

If Crowell isn't everything that everyone thinks he is, Georgia's in big time trouble.shakenbake wrote:Hope he's ready to play, this team will be riding on his back. Similar situation to Lattimore and USC last year.gator3guy wrote:Hello Isaiah Crowell

Re: Georgia News
Losing Ealey was bad enough, now you lose King (who never developed to what they thought they had recruited), a lot falls on Crowell's shoulders

Re: Georgia News
Richard Samuel moving back to RB from LB
In a release, UGA announced that linebacker Richard Samuel has been moved from the defensive side back to the offensive backfield. Samuel was a tailback as a freshman (2008) and sophomore (2009), but moved to linebacker last year due in part to the switch to a 3-4 defense. He did not play in 2010 because of an injury and took a redshirt.
Now, if/when he plays in 2011, it will be at the position he played upon arriving in Athens.

Re: Georgia News
Hey luv, thanks for doing the rosters again this year. I suggested a few things for Georgia on last years rosters. I'll just list a few notes for you to consider.
Hb isaiah Crowell will wear #1. Unfortunately branden smith already has this number. I believe according to the NCAA this is fine, as long as neither player is on the field at the same time. I really do not know what to suggest with this issue. You are more familiar with the way ea handles jersey numbers so maybe you can figure it out.
Hb Richard samuel, Samuel has great speed but I believe he does not have great ball carrier vision. He has a tendency to hit the line too quickly and not let blocks open up. This is just my observation from the limited action he has seen at tailback.
True freshman de ray drew is going to play olb for Georgia. He was a 5* recruit per rivals. He is expected to push cornelious Washington for the starting position.
Either washuan ealey or Caleb king should be made into redshift freshman halfback Ken malcome. I am on my iPhone now and finding a link will be a pain. I will update it later.
True freshman we nick Marshall is actually going to play cb for Uga.
I'll post more when I get a chance, daughter just woke from her nap.

Jarvis jones has been cleared by the NCAA and is ready to go for the Boise state game.
Ea did a terrible job with Georgia this year. I will come back with some suggestions after you release version 1. The default roster is an absolute disaster.

ouch, this hurts. Georgia dismisses starting RB
Very early this morning, Georgia running back Isaiah Crowell was arrested on three charges, including two involving a weapon that were labeled as felonies. Less than 14 hours after being booked into jail, he’s now ex-Georgia running back Isaiah Crowell.
In a statement, head coach Mark Richt announced that the sophomore back has been dismissed from the UGA football program. Also in his statement? No specific mention of Crowell.

Georgia LB transfers
UGA announced that linebacker Brandon Burrows has decided to transfer from the Bulldogs. As is most times the case when it comes to Mark Richt, Burrows was given an unconditional release.

Re: Georgia News
And then he is back....lol
Georgia finally added a player Monday, but only sort of. Brandon Burrows, a redshirt sophomore linebacker from Marietta who quit the team just last week, asked for and was granted a reinstatement on Monday. "I'm actually on my way back to Athens right now," said Burrows, reached via cellphone Monday night. "I've just been thinking about it and praying about it a lot. It was weird because, while I was thinking about it, I got a call from Coach [Rodney] Garner and we talked about a lot of things. He was saying I owed it to myself, being fully healthy and not redshirted, to play here and prove to myself I could do it. And I really agree with him." ... "I just can't put into words how thankful I am to be back."

Something to keep an eye on
In Georgia's latest scrimmage, Malcolm Mitchell took all of his snaps as a cornerback. Last season Mitchell was a nice surprise as a true freshman catching 45 passes for 665 yards and four scores.
If Mitchell's move is permanent, than the stock for Tavarres King, Chris Conley, and Marlon Brown rises considerably

Re: Georgia News
Georgia beat writer Seth Emerson senses that there is "no long term plan" for Bulldogs sophomore two way player Malcolm Mitchell.
The offseason plan was to play Mitchell at both receiver and cornerback and utilize him in whichever situations was needed at the time. Emerson mentions that "Mike Bobo and the offensive staff badly want Mitchell at receiver... But (defensive coordinator) Todd Grantham thinks Mitchell can be an all-SEC caliber cornerback." From the outside, it appears the two sides are fighting over a player that lacks a defined role. An undefined position may allow Mitchell to see the field at both spots, but it could also limit his development in a critical area.

Georgia RB transfers
Georgia running back Ken Malcome thought briefly about transferring from the program in 2011, but changed his mind a day later. Now, though, it’s permanent. In a release, the redshirt sophomore announced he will leave the Bulldogs in pursuit of more playing time.
Where Malcome will end up isn’t clear yet. Unless he receives a waiver from the NCAA or transfers down a level, he will be required to sit out a season.
