Re: Roster Suggestions
One thing I noticed on UCLA is that you have Josh Smith listed at 235 lbs. He's 213 according to that depth chart. Picky I know, just giving a heads up. Heavy guys run different.

Texas QB Tranfers to Colorado
Texas quarterback Connor Wood will transfer to Colorado, the redshirt freshman announced Wednesday.
The move comes after Garrett Gilbert was named the Longhorns' starter on Monday. Wood was tied for third on this week's depth chart with David Ash and behind Case McCoy.
"I want to thank coach (Mack) Brown, coach (Bryan) Harsin, all of the coaches, and my teammates for the opportunity to play at a great school like the University of Texas," Wood said. "I loved playing for UT and gave it my all, but I felt I needed to seek a new opportunity. I will always cherish the memories and friends I developed as a Longhorn, but I'm excited about the next chapter in my life and looking forward to playing at the University of Colorado."
Wood was given his unconditional release from his scholarship.

South Carolina
--FR TE Rory Anderson is listed as the backup TE. Not completely familiar with the team, but he can probably replace TE Chaun Gresham.
Anderson: http://gamecocksonline.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/anderson_rory00.html
--Melvin Ingram should be switched from DT to LE. He is the starter over Clowney. Ingram is also getting some pub for the draft next year. Clowney is expected to be a pass rush specialist to start off.
--Robertson and Fordham should be the starting DTs. The entire DT depth chart is basically correct once ingram comes off the top and moves to LE w/Clowney then backing him up there.
--My own personal opinion on South Carolina’s defensive scheme:
It’s listed as a 4-2-5 by the coaching staff, but it’s not a true 4-2-5 like TCU and now Texas Tech run. South Carolina’s Spur position is a true hybrid LB/S whereas TCU has 3 legit safeties on the field at all times. My suggestion: make the Spur, Antonio Allen, both the LOLB and the 3rd CB. Now make South Carolina a base 4-3 and Allen will line up as a LB sometimes (4-3) and a CB/S sometimes (Nickel). That’s a more realistic use of the Spur position.
--Quin Smith is listed as the starter at WLB (ROLB). Paulk is backing up at MLB.
--FS Jimmy Legree is listed as the starter.
--DJ Swearinger is listed as the starter at SS.
--Not sure where Devonte Holloman is. He may be hurt.

Texas Tech
--I know the roster is full, but true frosh HB DeAndre Washington deserves a spot. He is a versatile HB/WR hybrid in their system and he’s expected to play this year. Not sure who can be removed, I’ll look into it further.
HB Depth Chart: Stephens, Crawford, Washington (HB Kenny Williams is still seen as the best true RB in the freshman class, but he may redshirt this year; if he does, he should be taken off the depth chart)
--Jeffers is hurt.
--HB Bradley Marquez may need to be moved to WR. He’s listed as the backup at the “Z” position. He may also be a hybrid HB/WR.
WR:
Switch Moore and Torres on the depth chart. Moore and Swindall are starting at the Z and X respectively with Torres and Zouzalik in the slots.
--C Justin Keown is hurt, so Terry McDaniel is starting Saturday. You can probably keep Keown there for now, don’t think it’s season ending.
Other depth chart moves:
LE: Mackey, Richards (Fehoko not listed on depth chart)
RE: Bush, Barr
DT: Switch Wesley and Graves
MLB: Hubert, Eguavoen
ROLB: Dees, Cobb
CB: Mays, Porter, Phillips
SS: Bullitt, Davis, Dewhurst
KR:
Ben McRoy and Austin Zouzalik.

Re: Roster Suggestions
Vandy
CB Casey Heyward should probably be the best player on their team.
Washington
QB Price should be much faster and more athletic than Nick Montana.
Rutgers
Phil Steele notes that WR Tejay Johnson has “game breaking speed.” Seems like there is a lot of speed at WR for Rutgers with Sanu, Harrison, and Shuler.
TE DC Jefferson is a former QB so he can use some THP and THA.
Colorado
I believe it was mentioned above, but WR Tyler McCulloch definitely needs to be added to Colorado. He is going to be a starter.
Tyler Hansen needs better SPD, AGI, and ACC. He's a very good scrambling QB.
Other Colorado News:
Colorado's depth chart is much different than it was after spring practices, starting with an official switch to a 3-4 defense and true freshman Greg Henderson earning the starting nod at right cornerback opposite senior Travis Sandersfeld.
Henderson and Sandersfeld have the biggest challenge for the Buffaloes, as they are replacing NFL draft picks Jimmy Smith and Jalil Brown.
As for the 3-4, Josh Hartigan switches from a defensive end to "Jack" outside linebacker. Will Pericak moves outside from tackle to end, while Conrad Obi is officially a nose tackle. The Buffaloes ran a 3-3-5 last season.
Here's the word on the defensive scheme from the official website.
The coaches are now listing the base defense as a 3-4, instead of a 4-3 which has been in place at CU since 1995; the Buffs last lined up in the formation in Bill McCartney’s final year as head coach in ’94. A newly-titled position, “jack” outside linebacker, now complements the two inside linebacker spots (“mike” and “will”) and the opposite outside one (“sam”). Josh Hartigan is the jack OLB, with the former defensive tackle now becoming left defensive end and is manned by Will Pericak and Curtis Cunningham. Conrad Obi (nose tackle) and Chidera Uzo-Diribe (right DE) are slotted next to the left end.
Sophomore Derrick Webb is the starter at the "Will" inside linebacker spot ahead of senior Patrick Mahnke.
Also on defense: True freshman Kyle Washington is the backup strong safety behind Anthony Perkins.
On offense, there aren't any real surprises, other than there being an "and" between senior receiver Tony Clemons and true freshman Tyler McCulloch, meaning they are considered co-starters at the "X" receiver.
There's also an "and" between redshirt freshman Daniel Munyer and sophomore Gus Handler at center.

There's also an "and" between redshirt freshman Daniel Munyer and sophomore Gus Handler at center.

True Frosh ratings
On the freshman ratings: I know these are your rosters, and I know you like to rate guys based off their depth chart status. But there are a lot of true frosh who have earned playing time, who probably don’t deserve to be rated 75+ at this point, especially when compared to the other top freshmen in the nation.
For instance, QB Nick Isham at La Tech is now a 78, which is better than both Wittek and Kessler at USC, Frazier at Auburn, Hundley at UCLA, LeMay at Georgia and other true freshman QBs who are MUCH better than Isham. If any of those guys were recruited to La Tech, they would surely be starting as freshman.
So it’s just my opinion that the freshman who earn starting roles or playing time don’t necessarily deserve huge ratings boosts as it then loses the integrity of the recruiting rankings (which I know aren’t always perfect) coming into the season.
Other freshman QBs who may be too high:
Michael Nebrich, Uconn
David Watford, Virginia
Chuckie Keeton, Utah St
Troy Jones, Maryland
Maxwell Smith, Kentucky
Tyler Shreve, Utah
Max Shortell, Minnesota
Jacob Coker, FSU
Connor Cook, Michigan St
Cole Stoudt, Clemson
Brooke Cobbins, Kentucky
Again, these are just my suggestions, I’d love to hear opinions on this matter from other fans of the rosters.

I can understand Palo's point but also can see why Luv does increase ratings for new starters like Isham

ATLsportsfan over on Operation Sports has put up lists of top ranked freshman per one recruiting service (Scout, I think) and what their overall is compared to others like Isham. I like what he's doing, and not just because it illustrates how two key Oklahoma State freshman are underrated so I don't have to say it and look like a huge homer.
That being said, I think there's a compromise between the two. Justin Blackmon was a three star recruit coming out. Now he's the favorite to win the Biletnikoff (again). And so many 4 stars don't pan out. So, I think some blend of bumping starters OVR along with bumping some of the top-tier recruits who got zero love from EA makes the most realistic/fun experience. Just my two cents.

I made those charts in the "Incoming Freshman" section for this purpose: easily compare how the top rated freshmen compare to others in the class in all ratings, not just overall.
I think it was important for little things like Clowney being too much of a power player on the default roster. Luv made a nice change and made him more explosive off the ball and lowered his strength to get him to play more realistically.

Oh yeah, I remember skimming those a little while back. Yeah, those same kind of things. On OS it's with current rating changes too, but only Scout rankings.
And yeah, I agree it is most useful for tendencies, but along with many, I'm probably guilty of being overall-centric.
Regardless, I think it's good to keep things in perspective both within a team and across the nation, somehow finding a compromise between those who are highly regarded coming out of HS and those who have impressed their coaches in camp.
And, I think Luv does a commendable job of exactly that.

Re: Roster Suggestions
yeah...I can see both sides of the coin...I try to keep the ratings down...but when someone beats someone out that is higher than them...I have no choice but to raise them higher....it would look stupid to have someone starting over someone else that has a higher rating than them.....I'll look into it

Miami ideas
RB
- Miller 4.30 this spring (Link under WR)
- Grooms Fr. Still not cleared but Clearinghouse
WR
- Byrd 4.41 this spring
- Benjamin 4.32 without warming up this spring
- Streeter 4.36 this spring
- Dorsett 4.37 this spring
twitter.com/#!/LazCab/status/94038224913186817
TE
- Cleveland and Walford can be faster.
LT
- Henderson 83? He was a freshman All American!
RG
- Linder played in 12 games last year, with 5 starts, deserving more than a 73
RT
- Washington is worthy of a 90+, B Preseason All American
LE
- Vernon and Smith can be faster.
RE
- Chickillo big time player, 5-star prospect who deserves much more than a 73 OVR
DT
- Where is Curtis Porter? I’d remove Whipple. After this MD game, his role will be emergency guy and is a Senior.
- Grimble is another big time recruit, deserving better than a 73 OVR.
LOLB
- Buchanon 4.41 last spring
ufootball.tumblr.com/post/3239585881/miami-weight-room-top-performers-2010-40-yard
- Johnson 93 speed is a bit much for him. But well done OVR. Big boy who runs a 4.74
hurricanesports.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/johnson_eddie00.html
CB
- McGee just as fast as Benjamin, ran a 4.29 this spring (Link under WR)
FS
- Dallas Crawford
- He deserves a spot. He was a 4-star, ESPN 150. As much as I enjoy a walk on like Swasey, I think the bigger name should get the nod here. Or keep Swasey, and get rid of Grooms because he may not make it into school.
SS
- Thurston Armbrister
- A late addition to this year’s class but Golden has raved about him. Stated several times that he will be part of the freshmans who will play this year (before suspensions). Maybe remove the walk-on RB Hughes whom you recently added.

UCF ideas now
QB
- Godfrey 88 speed instead?
RB
- Storm Johnson missing. Original EA rosters had him at an 84 which is pretty accurate.
WR
- Marquee Williams is no longer with the team. I’d replace him with Freshman Rannell Hall, who is nicknamed Speedy. Made the 2 deep for the first game, and GOL is always raving about him. ucf.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1258937
- A little love for Joshua Reese? 4-star big time guy who RS last year. And faster, he is the backup PR.
- McDuffie. He is very fast. Elite speed, top in the nation speed. Led the nation in return yards last year second team all American and is a preseason KR all American. articles.orlandosentinel.com/2011-04-14/sports/os-ucf-quincy-mcduffie-0415-20110414_1_ucf-coach-george-o-leary-conference-usa-quincy-mcduffie
- 60 for Mackeroy?
TE
- Add Dontravius Floyd for RG Brandon Bryant (no role, former DT). Former WR who is now and H-Back and expected to have a big year. articles.orlandosentinel.com/2011-08-28/sports/os-ucf-dontravius-floyd-0829-20110828_1_rob-calabrese-ucf-offense-ucf-coach-george-o-leary ucf.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1257234
- Add Kevin Miller for Meiklejohn.
LG
- Cliff McCray, over to RG behind Goins
C
- Meiklejohn is no longer with the team.
- 62 Tarik Cook?
RG
- Justin McCray is starting at LG
LE
- Move Richardson to RE
RE
- Toby Jackson to LE. 74? 4-star JuCo signee, former UGA signee.
- Add RE Cameron Henderson for DT Thomas Niles. Jackson’s teammate and 3-star JuCo signee. He is huge.3
- Troy Davis is much better than a 75. Has a physical guy with an extreme motor and is much faster than a 75 with a knack for getting the QB.
DT
- Jose Jose is a big man. So big his name is twice. And he clogs the whole, and may be the strongest man on the team. 90+ strength range and should be around 73 OVR.
- Remove DT Dalton Wertz and swap with Josh Wofford. Another big boy, who is 2-3 deep on the D-Line.
LOLB
- Shipman is a former basketball player at UF and safety for UCF. Much faster than a 83.
MLB
- DJ Williams is no longer with the team. Add Miles Pace instead.
ROLB
- Plummer is now back up MLB, and much better than a 64. Original rosters had him at a 72.
- Davis won the starting nod, and is much better than a 72. Little guy who brings the wood.
CB
- Whitehead is no longer with the team, and I’d add Bruce Dukes who has been getting a lot of work in camp with 1st and 2nd team.
- An elite punt returner, 93-94 may be better for speed.
FS
- Easton is at CB, and getting lots of looks at 2-deep.

Re: Roster Suggestions
Your attention to detail is incredible. Just saw your Western Kentucky edits. Awesome.
I'll list some things I noticed from watching the games today:
Arizona St.
HB Marshall- no gloves. Needs more build for arms, rear, and thighs. Thickly built dude.
WR Miles returned a kickoff tonight. Raise agility (only 79).
LB Burfict- Lower shoulder pad height. No sleeves. No white elbow bands. Black wristbands. Vapor Jet gloves. Black bicep bands. No calf bands. Black thin ankle tape.
Bowling Green
WR Eugene Cooper was making plays all night. 110 and 2 td's receiving. Also returns kicks.
FIU
HB Rhodes had 2 TD's. Looked good.
WR Hilton- remove elbow bands, add white bicep bands.
Sidenote: this guy is dynamite.
Idaho
QB Reader- revo speed robot (thats all I remember. That and he sucked lol).
HB Bass- Darker skin tone. Make him more stockier (arms and legs). Revo speed robot. Visor. Taped wrists heavy. Black bicep bands.
HB Kama Bailey- Revo speed 3 bar lb
Louisville
QB Bridgewater- Darker skin tone. Revo speed (he wears the two bar thats not in the game).
Memphis
WR Foster is apparently the backup RB. He had a nice game until he got hurt.
HB Artevas Gibson came in after him and did well.
North Texas
WR Chancellor caught my eye as I was watching. Had some nice returns and made a sick catch.
Temple
QB Gerardi started
Coyer came in and had a long td run
Stewart was suspended
HB Pierce was a monster
Toldeo
Both QB's were solid
HB Thomas had a huge run. Showed some nice cuts and jukes during his limited action.
WR Page is insanely quick and elusive. He was making cuts on a dime every time he touched the ball.
Wake Forest
QB Price looked real sharp. Once he got hurt the team was dead. Stachitas was not so sharp.

Re: Roster Suggestions
Miss St
Add:
WR Jameon Lewis. He led the team with 4 Rec for 113 Yds and he also returned punts. His bio:
http://www.mstateathletics.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=90891&SPID=10997&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=16800&ATCLID=204973230&Q_SEASON=2011
He can probably replace one of the freshmen WRs, either Morrow, Johnson, or Fosselman (not sure what their situations are).
Possible Add:
WR Sam Williams had 3 rec. I'm not sure if it was in garbage time. Also not sure if he's worth adding over the other freshmen WRs.
