Trickett from FSU ends up at West Virginia
A little over two weeks after he announced he was leaving Florida State, Clint Trickett has officially announced his transfer destination.
In a move that will surprise almost no one, Trickett confirmed that he will continue his collegiate playing career at West Virginia. WVU and USF were long considered the front-runners for his services.
Trickett’s father, FSU assistant Rick Trickett, is from Masontown, WV, and was an assistant coach at WVU from 1975-79 and then again from 2001-06. The younger Trickett spent considerable time in God’s Country growing up, and still has relatives in the state.
“It’s official, I will finish my academic/athletic career at WVU. This is a dream come true to be playin for the state I love. #CountryRoads,” Trickett wrote in a tweet posted to his Twitter account, which carries a bio that reads “A duck hunter who happens to play football.”

Receiver returns to WV
In early November of last year, Ivan McCartney was the second West Virginia wide receiver in a span of four days to leave the football program.
A half a year later, the wayward receiving son has returned home.
Dana Holgorsen confirmed to the Charleston Daily Mail that McCartney is back with the team and will be given the opportunity to make amends for whatever led to his initial departure. The head coach, though, doesn’t exactly sound optimistic that the return will stick.

2013 signee transfers
An early enrollee has decided to take an early leave of the West Virginia football program, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting.
Citing Chavas Rawlins‘ high school coach, the paper has confirmed that the quarterback will be transferring from the Mountaineers. It appears as though the departure of WVU assistant Jake Spavital played a significant role in the player’s departure.

In 2010, Ronald Carswell was one of the many touted members of yet another highly-ranked Alabama recruiting class. After being suspended for spring practice in 2012, the wide receiver left the Tide.
A year later, Carswell is back at the FBS level.
Monday, the receiver confirmed to the Macon Telegraph that he will continue his collegiate playing career at West Virginia.

Rushel Shell’s long, winding journey since leaving Pittsburgh has finally come to a conclusion. Well, at least for now.
Anyway, the running back confirmed to ESPN.com‘s Brett McMurphy that he will be transferring to West Virginia to continue his playing career. Shell’s mother also confirmed to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that her son is headed to the Mountaineers.

Re: West Virginia 2013 news
West Virginia junior RB Andrew Buie will redshirt this season.
Buie's importance to the program has waned as the Mountaineers courted and secured transfer backs Charles Sims and Rushel Shell. Sims will start in 2013, while Shell is expected to take over next season. Buie's decision means that he'll likely function as Shell's backup next year before taking over the starter's gig as a redshirt senior in 2015.
