UNM 30 CAL 28 -  double overtime

Fantastic game.  Both teams scored a TD with under 1 minute to play.  MLB Javarie Johnson had a sweet user pick to set up our first TD.  We end the season 7-7, and win a bowl game for the second straight season.  

Next season, I'm changing my playbook to one-back.  The pistol does not have enough vertical passing plays, and I hate how compact it feels overall. We have some decent recruits coming in, and our offense should be dynamic.  We lose all of our linebackers, so defense will be a problem.

SDSU will play 7-5 Oregon State in the Las Vegas Bowl.

oh joy, I get to play Oregon State again.....thanks NCAA for not giving me a new opponent. Oh well.

When do you want to do the off-season stuff? Let's try to do it before Friday. I'm available anytime between 5 pm and 10:30 pm the next couple of days. Just let me know  

Ill see how late I get home. Thinking either tonight or tomorrow. How many more years are we going? Kind of lose interest in a dynasty when it becomes all recruits and not actual players.

At least 2 more years, 3 at the most. I also lose interest when the real players leave, yet I like to see my first recruiting class graduate.

You guys should give your 1st year recruits the real names of your school's actual 2014 recruits...would give you an extra year playing with real players.

I like that idea Luv but we should have done that after the first year, and even geared our recruiting that certain way too. Maybe when we start a new dynasty with a different school. Like the concept though

Definitely...I used to name all my incoming recruits, plus all the big name recruits throughout the nation

two questions for you Zoon...

have you had plays over 20 yds? seems so difficult this year
have you had fumbles? I never see fumbles in the games, maybe 1 every 4 games

I've had a few 80 yard running plays, and few 50 yard passing plays, so not that many.

As far as the fumbles are concerned, lack of fumbles is a big problem with this game. I've seen multiple threads on other forums about the lack of fumbles. I know for sure that the sliders we are using are not the issue.

I'll be on until 9:30 tonight if you want to get the off-season done in one shot.

Man, you'll probably be ranked in the top 8 after the season you had. I hope I can catch up to you before the final season.  

Okay, I will try to be on around 8:30 or so. Yes, it was a good season but I will be losing a lot of seniors and my recruits are horrible so I will fall this year.

We will stick with the custom sliders we have been using, and use them for the entire season. I hope you don't go undefeated this season with the sliders we have been using, since you have not lost while playing with these.

SDSU has a 97 rating on offense! Crazy. Your defense took a hit to an 87.

I have a 75 overall, 79 offense, 73 D.

We're going default Heisman after this season. Our teams are better, and our controller skills are vastly improved since August.

Aztecs is like old Joe Paterno and Lou Holtz..."our team is losing a lot this year", meanwhile he returns a behemoth...look out!

UNM 28 ASU 7

Completely dominated. ASU was able to run the ball at will, but they could not convert on their 3rd downs. Eubank and Foster are awesome with the read-option. Our defense is much better up front and in the secondary. Our linebackers are our weak spot.

Offensively, the one-back offense is phenomenal. The passing game feels like the air raid, but from under center. My TE is going to have a huge year. The running game was non existent though (Pressley 15 carries for 16 yards), which will be a problem. I might need to run a few pistol formations to get a few read-option plays in.

Beat Penn St 20-7 in Week 1.  It is funny that my offense is rated that well because I couldn't accomplish much on offense in the game. My best player, only carried the ball 6 times, and was out of the game after that being tired.

My defense this year will be a bend but don't break defense. Had 2 interceptions, which was nice because I couldn't force turnovers last year. Stopped them twice in the redzone on 4th down. Dime package kills me, as my freshman corners have no clue who to cover.

I did kick a 45 yd FG with my new kicker, so that was nice to see as my longest the prior years was around 34 yds.

Congrats on New Mexico having a lot of defensive players on the 1st and 2nd team All MWC

UNM 20 Tulsa 7

Ground game got a little better with Pressly gaining 70 yards on 15 carries.  I had over 300 yards passing, and 402 yards of total offense.

Defensively, Tulsa was able to run the ball, but our secondary is playing really well so far.  

GoAztecs....after you play your game against Penn St, I'm thinking about raising the CPU QB Accuracy to 10 and the CPU WR catching to 45 (up 5 points on both).  Tell me what you think.

Just wondering why they need to be raised? The CPU always seems to find the open receiver

It seems like the CPU QB holds the ball too long, and the receivers are dropping too many passes when they are wide open. This happened way too often in my last two games. I'll keep the sliders like they are if you don't think then need adjusting.

you can adjust them based on your game play. I just haven't seen it in mine. Those changes shouldn't impact it too badly

Do you want to try a new set of sliders? These look interesting. I haven't tried them though.

If you don't want to try these, I'll go ahead and make the adjustments I stated earlier, but after you play your game. If Penn St kicks ass with the current sliders, then I'll keep'em.
