Re: Roster Progress
Luv,
First off, I gotta say that I'm fairly new to your rosters. I downloaded the one for last year and it was by far the most accurate one I found. I honestly didn't find any discrepancies on any roster where as the others were found within the first five minutes of looking. I've been following your Twitter and this website to gauge when the new roster will be available. Don't get me wrong, I know how tedious this task is. I was doing it for only two teams the past few years and I couldn't even fathom how bad all 120 teams would suck! I will say that I'm just as excited for you to finish this roster as I was for the games release. I'm actually waiting for the roster before I actually start my dynasty. I just wanna give you props for all of your hard work and determination and I hope that you do keep it up for the years to come.

Re: Roster Progress
Hey Luv,
New to your site but have heard you can due some serious Roster work. I can tell you right now (looking at the roster) this is what I have come up with for FSU. Hope this helps with your roster updates.
- Safety Gerald Demps has no future on the team. I would change him to Freshman Tyler Hunter (same position). They even gave his #6 to Nick Waisome.
- JaBaris Little (see above), and would turn him into Freshman OLB Arrington Jenkins.
Both Freshmen were 4-stars.
-Also, Holmes Onwukaife is a MLB, not OLB...Darious Cummings is a DT, not a DE.
-Players w/dreads (Freeman; Dent; Haggins; Haulstead; Benjamin; Newberry; A.Jenkins; Parks)
-Player Without dreads(Chris Thompson, Mike Harris)
-All skin complexions match, except for Dent and Haggins, who I had to do a lighter shade of Brown to get them dreads.
-Duplicate #'s (Harris/Benjamin #1 ).
-Only players who should be removed from the roster are irrelevant upper classmen who have no future (Example: Will Secord, FSU), or walk-on's that EA decided to put in the game.

Mark Stoops scheme calls the player that is traditionally thought of as the "free" safety the "strong" safety and vice versa. So Nick Moody and Karlos Williams would appear as a FS on FSU's roster but for the purposes of this game it should be flipped so the player is playing the appropriate spot. Just my $0.02. Also, I'm not real sure which saftey spot Joyner will play but I listed him as a free safety.

FS
#4 Terrance Parks (Sr) 6'2" 221 lb. ***dreads*** 86 ovr
#20 Lamarcus Joyner (So) 5'9" 190 lb. 85 ovr

#30 Tyler Hunter (Fr) 6'0" 192 lb. 74 ovr
SS
#10 Nick Moody (RS-Jr) 6'2 226 lb. 84 ovr
#9 Karlos Williams (Fr) 6'2" 217 lb. 81 ovr
K
#18 Dustin Hopkins (Jr) 6'2" 187 lb. 90 ovr
P
#45 Shawn Powell (Sr) 6'4" 237 lb. 90 ovr

can you guys please post all these picture threads in the individual team threads.....thanks
Re: Roster Progress
Just came across this....
According to Petrino via team spokesperson, Jatashun “Big Tex” Beachum and tight end Denton Simek are no longer with the team for unspecified reasons.
Both players redshirted in 2010 and were adjusting to position changes this spring. Beachum moved from running back to defensive line; Simek from center to tight end.
In a related note which we highlighted earlier as well, Petrino mentioned in an interview today that Colton Miles-Nash had moved from defensive end back to tight end.

Rosters
Are you making changes to the players hometown at all on your rosters? and since I am new to this site I need to ask a NOOB question. Is there an ETA on your rosters. Waited for the rosters on OS and they are not great so I can wait a little longer

Re: Roster Progress
IIRC Luv did do all the hometowns for the players last year, so i would expect the same this year. This is another example of how in-depth Luv goes into his roster, hometowns actually mean nothing to the game, but little things like this set his roster far apart from all the others.Clevenge wrote:Are you making changes to the players hometown at all on your rosters? and since I am new to this site I need to ask a NOOB question. Did a little looking back and Luv's first roster was released August 8th last year. It was released earlier than he wanted due to popular request. He then frequently reuploaded his roster for about 1 week following his initial release with suggestions from the community that needed to be added to V1. Version 1 included updated names, player info, equipment for better known players, and minimal rating tweaks to obvious rating errors by EA.
Version 2 then dropped on Sept. 2nd, it was the Thursday afternoon before the first college football games of the year kicked off. This roster could be considered like an Open Day roster. Included in this roster was correct depth charts for all 120 teams, continued equipment edits, and still minimal rating updates since no football had been played yet. Once again he kept V2 open for about a week or so and frequently reuploaded his roster with the suggestions from the community that need to be added to V2.
Now i know I am not Luv, but i have been using his roster going on 3 years now and I've become accustomed to how he operates. I would expect the ETA's to be similar to last year, not the same day but possibly within a week or two. And then I would probably expect V2 to drop on September 1st. That night college football kicks off so i would look for Luv to drop V2 with the updated depth charts for the opening week.
Hopefully this post will give people some kind of time line when to start looking for things. Im sure Luv can drop in later today to confirm this.

haha, so true....my favorite aspect is the non-removal of 3 players who are deceased, just negligent.

Re: Roster Progress
I stopped looking after I saw Riley Dodge was still on UNT, Terrance Broadway was on Houston, and Justin Tuggle was white. I don't wanna bash them for doing the task, but more so just making a point of how good Luv's rosters are.

Hey luv,
Have you run into this yet? - http://www.operationsports.com/forums/ncaa-football/496010-ncaa-football-12-possible-roster-glitch.html
Apparently, it is messing up rosters really bad.

Re: Roster Progress
Yeah...it got my attention......Seems like nothing that can be done.....as long as the player has the available skill set....hopefully they will play to that skill set even though their tendency says different.....I haven't taken over at EA yet....they already handcuff me enough as it is so I'm used to not having alot of control with this franchise...Gonna keep doing what I do...thanks for the heads up
Re: Roster Progress
Just keep at it. I sure yours will be fine. Thanks for all the hard work.
