Maryland 2014 news
Wes Brown‘s long road back to Maryland has taken yet another step toward achieving that goal.
Brown’s attorney, Jason Shapiro, confirmed to the Washington Post late Wednesday night that the running back has been readmitted to the university and will enroll in classes for the spring semester. Allowing Brown back in school earlier than expected, the paper writes, came after the player completed “several university-imposed benchmarks — like community service, attending an ethics class and writing an essay — in order to lessen his suspension to a single semester.”

Re: Maryland 2014 news
Shawn Petty withdrew from school and will enroll elsewhere in the fall. Dylan O'Connor will transfer after the semester.
Petty gained national fame as Maryland's scout team linebacker turned quarterback in 2012, and did a fine job as a reserve inside linebacker last season, recording 24 tackles. The move clears way for Brock Dean, Jermaine Carter, Jr. and Jalen Brooks to compete for playing time -- Petty was expected to compete for a starting job in 2015 after Lorne Goree and Cole Farrand graduate, but now those three will likely be in competition to start with Abner Logan.
O'Connor was a walk-on offensive guard who was not expected to contribute any playing time this season

Re: Maryland 2014 news
More bad news out of College Park today, as former four-star linebacker Abner Logan has been placed on disciplinary probation by the school until April 2015. Logan will still be attending school and practices (this is not a Wes Brown situation or even a Marcus Leak situation), but will not be allowed to play in games during the length of the suspension.
Logan can reportedly attempt a sort of appeals process on October 10 (or later), and could potentially return for the second half of the Terrapins' season. The linebacker's original suspension was announced in April, and was intended to carry just through the semester.

Re: Maryland 2014 news
Prior to the start of summer conditioning workouts, Maryland’s depth along the offensive line has suffered a sizable blow as the Terps announced Friday that Moise Larose has been suspended for one year for violating the university’s code of conduct.
In a statement, the tackle apologized for whatever it was that led to the lengthy suspension.

The Big Ten has a pretty conference in the world of collegiate wrestling, but one of the conference’s newest wrestlers is looking to active on the football field as well. Maryland wrestler Spencer Myers has joined the football program, the school announced Wednesday.
Myers will work on the defensive line, but this is not a complete experiment for Randy Edsall and the Terps. Myers has some football background, having been named a defensive player of the year in Pennsylvania during his senior year of high school

Maryland will enter the Big Ten this fall with one of the best wide receiver units in the conference. That unit will not include Nigel King, a junior who reportedly has been granted a release from his scholarship in order to pursue playing opportunities elsewhere.
